Shortly after leaving White Sister, Gary toured extensively with Atlantic Records recording artist, John Parr (St. Elmo's Fire, Naughty Naughty) during his 1986-87 Man in Motion tour where they provided direct support for Tina Turner (Private Dancer tour), and later, Heart. Gary also appeared in quite a number of John's TV appearances (American Bandstand, Solid Gold, et al) and a couple of John's official music videos - back when MTV was king!

Over the years, John and Gary have remained close and when John returned to the USA in 2012 to do a promotional tour, Gary and his band at the time (Fast Machine), not only provided direct support, but also provided John with a ready-made backing band for a couple special performances he did in L.A. and Vegas.
